Why do we exist?

Project Pitch

Our project is a comedic short film involving an alien who befriends a human named Michael. They meet at a coffee shop and Michael is told of the alien's background. He quickly dismisses it, thinking the alien is joking around. The alien then reveals that he needs Michael's help to fix his portal. What does Michael decide to do?

Statement of Purpose

Our group, Parody VI has come together to create a Short Film called My Strange Friend. All members bring in a variety of skills to contribute to the film. Our target audiences are high school teens who are interested in science fiction. We chose to do an alien movie because we as a group wanted to do something different and unique. To separate our movie from all the other alien movies, we made it a comedy. Typically, all the alien movies are action packed and intense, so we went with a comedic genre instead. We also wanted to make people laugh with our movie and wanted to make it the most enjoyable it could be and a comedic sci-fi fits that criteria very well.

Plot Points

1. A portal opens in a library
2. An alien falls out of it.
3. The Agent is in the library and sees the alien.
4. The Alien sees the Agent and runs away.
5. The Alien finds a bike outside the library and decides to take it to run away.
6. The Alien bumps into Michael and Michael leaves after a little quarrel.
7. The Alien follows Michael to a restaurant and approaches him.
8. Michael is then told of the Alien's story but quickly dismisses it thinking its a joke.
9. The next day, Michael finds the Alien in his house and gets really mad.
10. He wants to hand the Alien over to the Agent but fears that the Agent is going to kill him along with the Alien.
11. So Michael decides to help the Alien just to get rid of him.
12. The Agent was able to track down the Alien at Michael's house and is now outside trying to break into the house.
13. Michael and the Alien leave the house through a window and beat the Agent to the library.
14. The Alien was able to go back safely and Michael is also safe because the Agent never saw Michael.
